show tune é uma
música popular originalmente escrita como parte de um álbum de um
"show" (ou musical), especialmente se a música em questão virou "padrão", mais ou menos presas nas mentes da maioria das pessoas do contexto original. Musicais em particular já fizeram "show tunes", entre eles:
