The Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union ([https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Consolidated_version_of_the_Treaty_on_the_Functioning_of_the_European_Union 2007]) is one of the primary Treaties of the European Union, alongside the Treaty on European Union (TEU). The TFEU forms the detailed basis of EU law, by setting out the scope of the EU's authority to legislate and the principles of law in those areas where EU law operates.
