Territorial changes of Germany after World War II
World War II resulted in the ceasing to exist of Nazi Germany. This also prompted several territorial changes, some of which still apply today. Germany lost a quarter of its pre-war territory dating to 1937, and the expulsion of millions of Germans from locations that were claimed by other countries.
