Sectarianism
This article concentrates on sectarianism as conflict between groups. For sectarianism as a characteristic of sects, see sect.
Sectarianism is a form of bigotrydiscrimination, or hatred arising from attaching relations of inferiority and superiority to differences between subdivisions within a group. Common examples are denominations of a religionethnic identityclass, or region for citizens of a state, and factions of a political movement.
