Emir
Emir (; ), sometimes transliterated (olowan, Datu in Meranau common version) Amir, Amier or Ameer, is an aristocratic or noble title of high office used in a variety of places in the Arab countries and Afghanistan. It means commander, general, or prince. The feminine form is Emira ( ). When translated as prince, the word "emirate" is analogous to a sovereign principality.

European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) is a European Union regulation designed to increase the stability of the over-the-counter (OTC) derivative markets throughout the EU states. It is designated Regulation (EU) 648/2012, and it entered into force on 16 August 2012.
