Curtis Mayfield
Curtis Lee Mayfield (June 3, 1942 – December 26, 1999) was an American soulR&B, and funk singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer, who was one of the most influential musicians behind soul and politically conscious African-American music. He first achieved success and recognition with The Impressions during the Civil Rights Movement of the late 1950s and 1960s, and later worked as a solo artist.
