Posterior funiculus
The
posterior funiculus
of the
spinal cord
lies between the
posterolateral
and the
posterior median sulcus
. This area includes the
posterior columns
(also called the dorsal columns) of
white matter
which contain the
fasciculus gracilis
and, higher in the body, the
fasciculus cuneatus
, which are separated by a partition of glial cells. Histologically, these two fasciculi are on either side of the posterior intermediate sulcus.
