APSARA (Authority for the Protection and Management of Angkor and the Region of Siem Reap) is the
Cambodian management authority responsible for protecting the archaeological park of
Angkor. Founded in 1995, it is in charge of the research, protection, and conservation as well as the urban and tourist development of the park.
