What a Girl Wants is a 2003 American comedy film starring Amanda Bynes, Colin Firth, Kelly Preston and Oliver James. Directed by Dennie Gordon, the film is based on the 1955 play The Reluctant Debutante by William Douglas-Home. It is the second adaptation for the screen of this work. The title of this film is a reference to a Christina Aguilera song of the same title, although ironically, the song was not included on the film's soundtrack.
