Tutayev is a
town in

History
Before 1918, it was called
Romanov-Borisoglebsk , and before 1822, when an order of the Tsar united them, there were two separate towns: Romanov (on the right side of
Volga River) and Borisoglebsk (on the left side). Romanov has existed since the 14th century and Borisoglebsk—since the 15th century. In the 15th century, Romanov was ruled by the
khans of
Nogay Horde.
