The Prime Minister of Jamaica is Jamaica's head of government, currently Portia Simpson Miller. Simpson Miller, as leader of the governing People's National Party (PNP), was sworded in as Prime Minister on 5 January 2012, succeeding Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) leader Andrew Holness. This was a result of the PNP's victory in Jamaica's 29 December 2011 general election.
