Olfactory transduction
Olfactory transduction is the sensory transduction of the olfactory system. It is a series of events in which odor molecules are detected by the olfactory receptors (in olfactory mucosa or insect antennae) and chemical signals are transformed into electrical signals to the brain where they are perceived as smells.
