The OWL University of Applied Sciences (German: Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe or Hochschule OWL) is a state university in Germany, which carries out research and higher education at four locations. The university belongs to the 10 best research oriented Universities of Applied Sciences in Germany and enrolled approximately 6.700 students in 9 faculties. Approximately 1.500 freshmen entered OWL in 2015. It offers Bachelor and Master study programmes with a strong focus to Engineering and Technology disciplines. Ph.D. programmes are carried out in cooperation with different partner universities (e.g.).
