Recording sessions took place from 2011 to 2013 at various recording studios, primarily in Los Angeles, California. The album features guest appearances from Nas, Common, 2 Chainz, Kid Cudi, Lil Wayne, Juicy J, Nicki Minaj and Jeezy, while the production was primarily handled by No I.D., Key Wane, Da Internz, Mike Dean and Young Chop, among others.
