Godzilla is a 1998 American science fiction monster film directed and co-written by Roland Emmerich and a reimagining of Toho's Godzilla franchise. It is the 23rd film in the Godzilla franchise and the first Godzilla film to be completely produced by a Hollywood studio. It stars Matthew Broderick, Maria Pitillo, Hank Azaria, Kevin Dunn and Jean Reno.
