Future Perfect is the debut full-length album by Autolux, released November 21, 2004 on T-Bone Burnett's label, DMZ, via Columbia. Future Perfect was recorded at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles and was produced by Burnett. The opening track on the album, "Turnstile Blues", was known for its heavy, distinctive drumbeat and musical atmosphere. A Pitchfork review stated, "In the first 10 seconds of the album opener, Carla Azar shames most every beat-maker with her ridiculous Leibezeit-cum-Bonham percussion."

The future perfect is a verb form or construction used to describe an event that is expected or planned to happen before a time of reference in the future, such as will have finished in the English sentence "I will have finished by tomorrow." It is a grammatical combination of the future tense, or other marking of future time, and the perfect, a grammatical aspect that views an event as prior and completed.
