David Davis , born 1937, is an American television producer and television writer. He is best known for work on the sitcoms The Bob Newhart Show, a series he co-created with Lorenzo Music, and Taxi, a series he co-created with James L. Brooks, Stan Daniels and Ed. Weinberger. In 1979, he won a Primetime Emmy Award for his producing work on Taxi.
