Chengalpattu, formerly known as Chingleput, is southwestern suburb of Chennai city and Taluk in Kanchipuram district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is the headquarters of the Chengalpattu Taluk of the district and is southwest of the state capital, Chennai on the National Highway 45.
