Blaise Francois Pagan
Blaise François Pagan was a French aristocrat, soldier, and military engineer. He was born sometime in 1603 in Saint-Pierre-de-Vassols, Vauclus. He died in Paris 18 November 1665. A military engineer, field marshal, traveler, and theorist of fortification, whose example Vauban built on. Pagan's "Les Fortifications" was the dominant text of its day.
