The Banu Tamim tribe , also known as the Bani Tamim tribe, are one of the main tribes of Arabia. Tamim, the ancestor of the tribe, is a direct descendant of Adnan and is thus considered an Ishmaelite tribe descending from Ishmael son of Abraham.
