Automobile Dacia S.A. is a
Romanian car manufacturer that takes its name from
the historic region that constitutes much of present-day Romania. Since 1999, a subsidiary of the French car manufacturer
Renault, the company was founded in 1966. It is Romania's largest exporter, constituting 7.3% of Romania's total exports in 2014. The Dacia manufacturing plant in
