All Aboard Florida
All Aboard Florida is a passenger rail project that will connect Miami and Orlando through express intercity service while also building new passenger stations. A wholly owned subsidiary of Florida East Coast Industries (FECI), the project will include stations located in downtown Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. It will be the first time a privately owned company in the US has developed and operated an express passenger rail system in over 100 years. The service will use the existing FEC corridor between Miami and Cocoa, while also building a new stretch of tracks along the State Road 528 corridor between Cocoa and the Orlando International Airport. All Aboard Florida will serve the historic FEC rail corridor along the east coast of Florida, where approximately 50% of the state’s population—over 9 million people—currently lives.
